Happy New Year! I am sorry for my delay in posting this week. I am still under the weather. In fact, I have been in bed for the past three and a half days with post-travel sinusitis and bronchitis. Not even macaroon pajamas could perk me up! As such, I am back at work today with my nebulizer in tow.
It seems no amount of Elderberry Extract or Dr. Fuhrman's G-BOMBS (greens, berries, onions, mushrooms, beans and seeds) were going to stave this off, because I really tried.
Accordingly, our New Year's Eve was even more laid back than usual. We typically order in or make our own hot appetizers for dinner, then stay up to watch the ball drop in Times Square on television. Although we live next door to Manhattan, we are not up for the craziness of going out with drinkers in the cold. This year, we enjoyed Japanese delivery. I napped during the television broadcast and went to bed at midnight, where I joint my husband who had been asleep for the prior two hours.
I am not sure what I dislike more, the joint pain and stiffness and extreme skin itch during a disease flare, or being unable to breathe with my semi-annual bout of SinuBronAsthmaSitis. It's a toss up!
This battle has me regretting all the well days I squandered in 2014. I confess I have been terrible about my gym time! It's true. I try not to exercize on days when I am unwell or fatigued. Making myself overtired only leaves me ripe for a flare. Somehow, too many of my well days turned into lazy days, where I moved from my bed directly to the couch to enjoy my coffee and skipped the gym. Now that I have a terrible infection, I wonder if I had spent last year working harder, would I have been able to stave off this illness? Like anyone with a hangover on New Year's Day, I am filled with regret and resolve never to do that again. Perhaps you will consider joining me in renewing your resolve to be more active in 2015.
