This past weekend, my husband and I drove out of town to attend a workshop affiliated with our church. I experienced a few health challenges, but at the end of the weekend, I was feeling lighter, more ready to deal with my day-to-day struggles.
This blog is not meant to advocate for our church, our faith or even that readers have one of their own, just telling about my own experience and the benefits to myself. This City Girl and her husband are practicing Catholics, but weekend retreats and workshops are available through almost every church and every faith or idealogy.
For me, faith helps me deal with my psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Having a regular prayer life helps to center me, reminds me to think of others and gives me hope.
So, despite still getting well since the beginning of this year, having to take nebulizer treatments in between sessions and sleeping in a strange bed, I feel more refreshed, less worried about the little things and ready to keep on fighting the good fight!
