Good morning! I hope you've been keeping up with the National Psoriasis Foundation's Wellness Challenge. Here is a recap of Week 3 and how I did.
Monday, August 17, we were challenged to Treat Ourselves and indulge in something that makes us happy, such as taking time out to do something we enjoy. I feel like every day I wake up on the right side of the dirt is a treat, but I treated myself to a temple massage to help relieve my tomato-induced headache! Nice!
Tuesday, August 18, we were challenged to Get Unplugged by 9:00 p.m. and put down those electronic devices that help us organize our lives. Did you know that using electronics before bedtime can negatively affect your sleep? I should pay more attention to this, but like to wind down with a game of solitaire, or two. I unplugged a bit early, because my husband and I usually go to bed at 9:00 p.m. Don't judge! It helps us get up at 5 for the gym the next morning.
Wednesday, August 19, we were challenged to Be Heart Healthy. The NPF asked us to share our favorite heart healthy recipes and awarded a fruit basket from Harry & David to the top three. You can find some of mine by searching "recipe" on this blog. What are some of yours?
Thursday, August 20, we were challenged to Drink Water. Come on! It was only one extra glass, to help offset the calories we consume in beverages every day. Personally, this City Girl does not drink her calories very often. I stick to water, black coffee and teas without added sugar or dairy. Did you do it? Keep it up!
Friday, August 21, was my favorite, by far! We were challenged to Make Our Soundtrack. So, I got together with my Psoriatic Disease pSisters and made this video. Hope you like it.
Saturday, August 22, we were challenged to Get Involved. Have you ever wondered if you could be a help to others with psoriatic disease? Click the link and check it out! The NPF can always use more volunteers!
Sunday, August 23, was our weekly Goal Check-In. So, how have you been doing? How do you feel? Have you gotten closer to achieving your goals this week? What challenges have you faced?
Last, but not least! The wonderful people at Dermarest and I are so excited about their over the counter psoriasis products, that they want to give a Prize Pack to five lucky City Girl readers! I have tried each of these and think they are great! Click here to enter! The winners will be announced on Friday!
