Being autoimmune, I experience strange symptoms all the time, sometimes without provocation. One of these is unexplained fevers. Sometimes, they are because I did not sleep well the night before. Other times, they seem to be for no reason, at all. Just last Tuesday, I awoke with a sore throat, swollen glands and a low fever, which lasted through Wednesday afternoon, intermittently. Ugh! It is quite frustrating to have to call in sick to the office without knowing why you are sick. This un-explainable unknown is all part of having an autoimmune disease. Fun, right?!
In addition, my inbox this week was loaded up with sales for Mothers' Day gift ideas. Yesterday was my first Mothers' Day without my mother and was a bit rough for me. Christmas was easier. But, my whole life Mothers' Day was only about one person in my life. It made me sad to see all the e-mails, it was sad to go to brunch on Sunday with folks taking their mothers out and it was sad to see all the photos and wishes on Facebook. But, my husband was there to give me extra hugs, to feed me champagne and dessert at brunch. There is one tradition I decided to continue. Every year I watch "Mommie Dearest" on Mothers' Day. I know it's terrible, but the irony always makes me laugh.
So, I have some news. Not really news, yet, but a teaser of some news. I have been asked to assist with a new website just for Psoriatic Arthritis. Exciting, yes?! I will wait to share the name and web address with you until it is launched, but can hardly wait for you to see it!
This week, I've got acupuncture and my Remicade infusion to look forward to. Hope you have a good one, too!
